The number of patients with CKD is growing fast. As a result the number of patients needing dialysis is also rising rapidly. Added to that, the survival of patients on dialysis has gone up because of better quality of dialysis. This has resulted in a big increase in the number of patients needing dialysis treatment. Hence there is huge demand for well-trained personnel with expertise in not only handling machines but also medical emergencies that may arise during dialysis.
Apex School of Dialysis Technology (ASDT) aims at filling this void of well-trained dialysis professionals in the city and the country. ASDT has stared its activity since August 2010. Since inception ASDT has trained more than 600 students.
Hostel facility will be provided for outstation students. Also a stipend will be considered for the full time students. Deserving candidate will be providing financial support for the students from weaker sections. Student will get placement support.
Dialysis technology in the Medical industry has seen the fastest growth in India in the healthcare sector. This industry is growing at a rapid pace of 18% every year.
The curriculum will include not just the aspects of performing dialysis procedure but also machine maintenance and repair, maintenance of water treatment plant, English speaking, personality development, psychological aspects, empathy and bedside manners. This course is thus designed to give an excellent opportunity to the dialysis technician to develop his professional skills and personality.

During these 3 years I was able to participate in Conference like Dialysis Simplified, Vascular Access Symposium and Continuous Dialysis Education which was a great learning experience for me.
